YORK COUNTY, S.C. — Five people were found dead inside a home on Marshall Road in Rock Hill Wednesday afternoon.
The York County Coroner’s Office responded to repots of a multiple deaths at a residence.
Officials said the residents of the home Dr. Robbert Lesslie along with his wife Barbara Lesslie were found dead with multiple gunshot wounds.
According to the coroner’s office, their 5-year-old grandson Noah Lesslie and their 9-year-old granddaughter Adah Lesslie were found dead inside the home with gunshot wounds as well.
A fifth victim was found outside the home. Officials identified him as James Lewis of Gastonia. He was working at the home at the time of the incident.
Authorities said they have identified the suspect responsible for the shooting. They found him in a nearby house.
Detectives are in the area serving the search warrant. There is no active threat to the community.
Deputies said they were called around 4:45 p.m. to reports of a shooting involving multiple people at a home on Marshall Road.
Chopper 9 Skyzoom flew over the area and could see two medical helicopters and an ambulance responding to the scene before deputies asked our chopper to stand down.
Shortly after the shooting, the York County Sheriff’s Office tweeted that detectives are searching for a man wearing a black hoodie and camo pants who was last seen in the area. Officials said he is possibly armed and dangerous and residents should lock their doors and stay inside.
